10am - Noon
MPM is offering a series of hands-on science activities designed to integrate the areas of form and function, genetics and the use of science data. Students will explore the structure of the eye as they examine different adaptations of its form and function and how this provides an animal the edge it needs to survive. Next, they can enter the realm of the human genome as they extract samples of their own DNA and discover why things look like they do (genotype vs. phenotype). Finally, we'll examine and use actuary tables to help identify how behavior effects health and longevity.
