About Christine Del Re
Christine Del Re received a B.Sc. in Archaeological Conservation and Materials Science from the Institute of Archaeology, University of London, England in 1980. Following contractual appointments at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, NC and the Mississippi River Museum in Memphis, TN, Ms. Del Re worked for five years at the University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in the conservation of archaeological and ethnographic materials.

After a six month period as Assistant Conservator at the Milwaukee Public Museum, Chris was appointed Associate Conservator at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago in May 1988.
She has been a Fellow of the American Institute for Conservation since 1993.
In September 1994, Ms. Del Re opened a full-time private conservation business specializing in archaeological, ethnographic and historical objects and cultural materials. Her clients included museums, private collectors, and government agencies such as the Chicago Historical Society, Adler Planetarium, Chicago Public Library, Museum of Science and Industry, Lake County Museum, Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee Public Museum and the State Historical Society of Wisconsin.
In January 1997, Christine Del Re was appointed Senior Conservator and Section Head of Conservation at the Milwaukee Public Museum. She has been Project Director for three of MPM's federally funded Institute of Museum and Library Services Conservation Projects (1998, 2000, and 2004), has written MPM's Long-Range Collection Preservation Plan and works institutionally to implement its broad and varied recommendations.
