Geologic Cross Section
of the Quarry at Lime Kiln Park, Grafton, Wisconsin

This geologic cross section shows the different types of rocks present in the quarry wall at Lime Kiln Park. The location of measured section A, B, and C, which are illustrated on other pages, are shown on the cross section. Lower parts of the quarry face are covered by rock debris, soil, and vegetation. Exposed parts of the quarry face are formed by rock known as dolostone. Four subdivisions of the dolostone represent different environments of deposition related to development of the reefs.
