Dead Sea Scrolls and the Bible: Ancient Artifacts, Timeless Treasures brings together archaeological objects and manuscripts to tell a story 2,000 years in the making. Witness actual Dead Sea Scrolls and other early biblical artifacts to learn how transmission of these early writings has shaped the beliefs of Judaism and Christianity and influenced aspects of Islam. This is the largest temporary exhibition ever produced by the Milwaukee Public Museum.

Timed ticket entry is every 15 minutes starting at 5pm. Last timed entry is at 7:30pm.
All member tickets are only $10 each for this event. Reservations required.

Enjoy a Meal Deal: 5:15 - 7:15pm

Reserve a Dead Sea Scrolls and the Bible-inspired meal. (Child and vegetarian options are available):
  • Chicken and vegetable kabobs with chimichuri sauce (vegetable kabobs for the vegetarian option)
  • Fire-roasted carrots, eggplant, zucchini, peppers and Portobello mushrooms.
  • Baked penne pasta in a light garlic cream sauce.
  • Cucumber tomato salad.
  • Dessert: Baklava.
  • Beverages: Assorted Coke products and pitchers of water and milk.

Cost for meal deal: Adults, $11; Children (age 10 and under), $6. Reservations required.
(Meal Deal tickets will not be sold at the door. The cafe will not be open.)

Add a Planetarium Show

Secrets of the Dead Sea will show at the Daniel M. Soref Planetarium at 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 pm.
Cost: $5 per person. Reservations required.

Secrets of the Dead Sea tells the story of this timeless region through its history, religion, astronomy and geology. Filmed at the Dead Sea and supplemented with footage taken from space and historical and astronomical animations, Secrets of the Dead Sea brings to life the ancient stories preserved in cliffs and caves–and in the stars overhead.
