October 22 - "Rev your Motors! The Spark Behind Engineering" Join Rockwell Industries Electrical Engineer Nathan Laws and catch a glimpse of engineering and design all the way to production. Discover a hundred years of innovation that began in the Streets of Old Milwaukee.
November 19 - "A Tribute to Survival" Join Anthropology curator Dawn Scher Thomae as she gives us a behind the scenes tour of one of Milwaukee's signature exhibits, just recently refurbished, about Woodland Indians. This amazing exhibit features real-native American peoples and their stories. Discover how these and other Native Americans impact your life everyday!
January 29 - "Fossils Beneath Milwaukee ... and Beyond!" Join Patricia Burke Geologist at the Milwaukee Public Museum to explore the Deep Tunnels beneath Milwaukee for fossils. Then travel with her to Missouri to investigate fossils there. Then learn how these same fossils tell a story in the Milwaukee Public Museum.
February 25 - "Animal Adaptations and Survival of the Fittest" Themed in honor of our Big Read project featured book, Jack London's "The Call of the Wild," join Museum Educator Art Montgomery as we explore the ways in which animals survive in their extreme environments. Together, we will answer questions such as How do polar bears keep warm? And can animals change their colors to coincide with seasonal change?
March 25 - "Talking Pots" Back by popular demand, join Jocelyn Boor as she explores pottery of thousands of years old at the Museum. Learn how she makes these pots talk and hear what they have to say. Uncover secrets thousands of years old as you roll up your sleeves and work side-by-side with Jocelyn to make these pots speak!
April 29 - "Who am I?" I am a linear, legless, Vertebrate; bellying the earth ever since my birth; of varying sizes, colors, shapes; I mate, and swallow whole life many times my girth ... Join Museum Herpetologist Bob Henderson and explore a world of snakes. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of Bob's research at the Museum and find out if there is such a thing as a friendly snake. Don't be surprised at who might wiggle by during this interactive session.
May 27 - "Butterfly Chatter" Join Entomologist Susan Borkin as she takes us on a behind the scenes tour of the Museum's world renowned Butterfly Garden and her research. Find out what te chatter is all about when it comes to butterflies!
June 10 - "CSI Investigations go Green" Join Museum Botanist Neil Luebke on a behind the scenes tour that brings you face-to-face with a Corpse Flower and an amazing plant collection. Then join him in an unsolved mystery at the Museum where a plant catches a thief.
