Milwaukee Goes Wild with the Big Read

Thousands of participants made the 2009-10 Big Read a huge success! It was one of the largest Big Reads in the country. Thank you!

The Milwaukee Public Museum and the Milwaukee Public Library will not be hosting a Big Read event for the 2010-11 school year, but we invite you to join us online and on visits to the Museum and Library through self-directed activities. Activities regarding Jack London's "The Call of the Wild" will remain available for free, as downloadable PDFs, on this website. NEA resources are available at www.neabigread.org.

About the Big Read

The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest. The goal of the program is to revitalize the role of literature in American culture and bring transformative power of literature into the lives of its citizens. The Big Read brings together partners across the country to encourage citizens to read for pleasure and enlightenment.
