Educator Workshops

The following Educator Workshops are scheduled at the Museum during the 2011-2012 school year. MPM educators can also be scheduled to come to your facility for training workshops. All workshops provide certificates of completion.

Project WILD/AQUATIC (K-12)

October 8, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm
Project WILD/AQUATIC is a nationwide environmental education program consisting of activity guides and supplementary environmental education materials for K-12 classrooms, youth groups, home schools, and nature centers. Project WILD/AQUATIC encompasses over 165 hands-on environmental education activities that are also easy to adapt for preschool ages. Participants receive: Project WILD K-12 Activity Guide (537 pages), Project WILD Aquatic Activity Guide (269 pages) and many other posters and supplements.
Cost: $45

Culture in the Classroom (Early Childhood-K5)

November 12, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
This training will introduce educators to customs, arts and creative expressions from around the globe. The first half of training will focus on the importance of diversity and cultural awareness in the classroom followed by a hands-on creative opportunity to create classroom enhancements and activities. Walk away with a new outlook on beautiful cultural customs and traditions.

Project Learning Tree (PreK-8)

January 21, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm
Educators are raving about Project Learning Tree (PLT), an award-winning environmental education program for PreK-8 formal and non-formal educators. Designed for all educators and naturalists, participants will receive environmental education curriculum ideas, hands-on activities and the PLT Activity Guide (over 400 pages).
Cost: $45

Project Learning Tree EC (Early Childhood-K5)

March 3, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
Foster a sense of wonder in young children through the Wisconsin Project Learning Tree Early Childhood Activity Guide and Music & Movement CD. Designed for early childhood educators, the hands-on activities integrate nature exploration, music and movement, literature, assessment opportunities, art and a snack into over 25 learning experiences.

Traveling Workshops

These workshops can be booked to meet your scheduling needs. Minimum of 10, maximum of 40 teachers per workshop. Travel fee of $50 for workshops presented outside of Milwaukee County.
