Student Exhibit : Thinking Outside the Treasure Chest
|
Milwaukee Public Museum's newest student exhibit, Thinking Outside the Treasure Chest, explores different concepts of "treasure," and opens us up to the idea that value can be found in unexpected places and objects.
Thinking Outside the Treasure Chest includes four display cases, each highlighting different types of "treasure." Visitors will see a variety of artifacts, including a vest made of soda can pull tabs, a nineteenth-century German lithopane, Egyptian funerary figurines, and gemstones like amethyst and garnet.
The student exhibit is the annual culmination of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee/MPM Museum Studies program, a cooperative graduate certificate program between UW-Milwaukee and the Museum. Students develop the annual exhibit from inception to completion, gaining invaluable professional experience. This exhibit will be on display through April 2009.
800 West Wells Street, Milwaukee, WI 53233.
