Milwaukee Public Museum

 

While the story may change slightly from culture to culture, certain mythological characters and themes are universal in explaining and understanding our world. Captivating Characters in World Mythology looks at some of these characters, in various incarnations, through more than 30 objects collected from the Americas, Africa, Europe and Asia.

Captivating Characters in World Mythology is the culmination of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee/MPM Museum Studies program, a two-year cooperative graduate certificate program between UW-Milwaukee and the Museum. Students develop the annual exhibit from inception to completion, gaining invaluable professional experience. This exhibit will be on display from early May 2010 through April 2011 on the third floor of the Museum.
