Mummies of the World will run from December 17, 2010 - May 30, 2011
Study the Science of Mummies through a Field Trip!
Enhance your students' interest in the scientific and cultural study of mummies, and heighten their interest in science and social sciences with a field trip to Mummies of the World. Through modern science, the mummies of this exhibit can tell us extraordinary science facts; how tall people were, how long they lived, what kinds of food they ate and the diseases they suffered from. Clothing, jewelry and other personal artifacts placed on or with a mummy can tell us about the person's status and lifestyle, as well as the values, beliefs, and attitudes of the culture in which they lived. Plan approximately 90 minutes to explore the exhibit.

Tickets to Mummies of the World will be timed-entry tickets, offered at 15-minute intervals. Guests must be at the Exhibition entrance at the time noted on their ticket. Admission to Mummies of the World will include admission to the entire Museum for the day of your visit. Re-entry into the exhibit is not allowed. See Exhibit Hours »
Add to the experience with the education program Mummies: Unwinding the Myths, the IMAX film Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs or Planetarium show Stars of the Pharaohs.
- School group rates available Monday through Friday with a minimum of 10 students. School trips are already discounted, no additional coupons or member benefits will apply.
- Home school educators must show their PI 1206 form to receive the discounted rates.
- Reservations must be made and prepaid at least two weeks in advance to receive school group discount. Walk-up groups will be charged regular price.
