Lady Elgin Rediscovery Expedition 2008

The Lady Elgin Rediscovery Expedition 2008 is a partnership between the Milwaukee Public Museum, Harry Zych, the Lady Elgin Foundation and other community members. An educational program designed to bring about awareness and interest in Great Lakes maritime history, the Expedition brings students directly to the wreck of the Lady Elgin through the use of interactive video-conferencing technologies. These students will essentially swim alongside the dive team exploring the site, a group led by Harry Zych, owner and founder of the wreck. This expedition allows students from in their classrooms to meet Language Arts standards through a real-world application and the use of 21st century tools.
