The Milwaukee Public Museum, the Humphrey IMAX Dome Theater, and the Daniel M. Soref Planetarium are located in downtown Milwaukee at 800 West Wells Street. The Center is at the intersection of Wells and James Lovell streets (formerly 7th Street).

Directions

From the North
Go South on I-43. Take the Highland Ave exit ramp. Turn left onto State St. Turn right on James Lovell and MacArthur Square parking structure will be immediately on your right.

From the South
Go North on I-94-43. Take Plankinton Ramp. Take Plankinton exit ramp. Turn slightly left onto N. Plankinton St. Go left onto W. Clyburn St. Go right on James Lovell St. Go over Wells St. and the parking garage will be on your left.

From the West
Go east on I-94. Exit Northbound I-43 (new exit on the right). Get into right lane and take the Kilbourn Tunnel exit ramp. Once out of the tunnel, turn left on 6th street. Turn left onto State Street. Turn left on to James Lovell. Parking structure will be on your right.

Parking

There are metered spaces available on most downtown streets. Meters are free (limit 2 hours) on weekends.

There are several municipal lots nearby. MacArthur Square parking structure is adjacent to the Museum Center and is accessible via James Lovell Street. The parking structure includes an entrance to the Museum on the ground level, eliminating the need to walk outside. Bus / Motor Coach Parking

Bus and motor coach parking is located on the lakefront on Lincoln Memorial Dr. From our location, take Wells Street east to the lake.

Access by Milwaukee County Transit System

The Museum is at the intersection of West Well Street and North James Lovell Street (7th Street). Several buses also stop a block or two from the Museum on Wisconsin Avenue, which is a block south of West Wells Street. If riding on Wisconsin Avenue, get off at the stop nearest North James Lovell Street (7th Street).

Access by Wisconsin Coach Lines from Waukesha

Buses stop at the corner of North James Lovell Street (7th Street) and West Wells Street inbound, and 6th Street and Wells outbound. Visit Wisconsin Coach Lines or call toll-free 800-236-2028, or 262-542-8861 for more information.

Access by Greyhound Bus

The Greyhound station is at 433 W. Saint Paul Ave., just 6 blocks southeast of the Museum. Call the station at 414-272-2156 or toll-free at 800-231-2222 for fare and schedule information.
