Geologic Cross section of the eastern quarry in Lime Kiln Park. This cross section shows the different types of rocks present in the quarry wall shown in the photograph. Click on the letters A, B and C to view measured sections showing graphic plots and details of rock features. Lower parts of the quarry faces are covered by rock debris, soil, and vegetation. Exposed parts of quarry faces are formed by rock known as dolostone. Four subdivisions of the dolostone represent different sedimentary environments related to development of the reef.
