Holiday Happenings at the Milwaukee Public Museum

Milwaukee—The Milwaukee Public Museum (MPM) is creating yuletide magic during Deck the Streets, the transformation of the Streets of Old Milwaukee and the European Village exhibits into a holiday wonderland where you can discover holiday traditions of the past and make new memories with your family! Deck the Streets will run from November 17, 2018 through January 22, 2019 and is included with general admission.

During this season of merry memory-making, MPM will also host special holiday programming for the entire family.  

Holiday Kick-Off Celebration
View rarely seen artifacts from the Streets era, make a holiday craft, interact with costumed docents, hear holiday performances from the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and stop by the Planetarium for an out-of-this-world holiday edition of Wisconsin Stargazing at the Dome Theater.
When: Saturday, November 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Cost: Free to Museum members, included with general admission for non-members

Black Friday Fun
Stroll through the splendor of the decorated Streets of Old Milwaukee and European Village exhibits and then join our Educators for fun family programming on the First Floor.
When: Friday, November 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Cost: Free to Museum members, included with general admission for non-members

European Village Alive!
Immerse yourself in the spirit of the season, see holiday artifacts not usually on display, talk with costumed interpreters about holiday traditions and participate in fun, hands-on activities.
When: Friday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Saturday, December 8 from 11 a.m to 3 p.m.
Cost: Free to Museum members, included with general admission for non-members

Holiday Tours
Learn how holiday traditions brought by European immigrants to Milwaukee blended together to create our modern celebrations during the Hidden MPM: Holidays in History tour.
When: Saturdays from November 24 through December 29 (no tour on December 8) at 11 a.m. (tour runs 50 minutes)
Cost: $2 for Museum members or $4 plus general admission for non-members

About the Milwaukee Public Museum

The Milwaukee Public Museum (MPM) is Wisconsin’s natural history museum, welcoming over half a million visitors annually. Located in downtown Milwaukee, the Museum was chartered in 1882, opened to the public in 1884, and currently houses more than 4 million objects in its collections. MPM has three floors of exhibits that encompass life-size dioramas, walk-through villages, world cultures, dinosaurs, a rainforest, and a live butterfly garden, as well as the Daniel M. Soref Dome Theater & Planetarium.
