Family SPARK! programs are offered at 1:00 p.m. on the dates listed below. There is a 30-minute coffee social before each program for participants to become comfortable and socialize with peers before we begin. Care Partners are welcome to stay and enjoy the Museum after the program. Street parking is FREE on Sundays.

Sunday, June 23: Dome Theater -  Choose from a giant Dome Theater show or a Planetarium program of your choice -- any show at anytime throughout the day. For titles and descriptions, click here.

Sunday, July 21: Apollo 11 -  Join our Planetarium Director Bob Bonadurer for a special presentation about the Apollo 11 voyage and view unique NASA objects from our collections. If the weather permits, we may even launch a few rockets of our own!

Sunday, August 18: Wisconsin Wildlife - Did you know Wisconsin is home to over 350 species of native birds? Our Badger State is home to a variety of beautiful wildlife. We’ll take a look at the different habitats and the animals that roam our wilderness.

Sunday, September 15: Streets of Old Milwaukee - Come experience the early metropolitan days of Old Milwaukee! We will explore entertainment and leisure activities during the 1890s through the turn of the century. We will stop by a few local storefronts, handle period artifacts, and enjoy a short clip of a silent film.

Space is limited and reservations are required three days in advance by calling 414-278-2714.

Groups from care communities

These programs are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. and are offered to groups. The facility must provide enough staff to assist all attendees. A limited number of wheelchairs are available to use free of charge. Groups check-in at the ticket window to obtain wristbands and check coats if needed, and meet the program facilitator at 2:00 p.m. We encourage attendees to wear nametags if possible (first names only). Reservations must be made at least two  weeks in advance, and groups are welcome to stay and enjoy the Museum before or after the program.

Monthly Group Programs:

June: Dome Theater - Choose from a giant Dome Theater show or a Planetarium program of your choice. For titles and descriptions, click here.

July: Space Odyssey - During the 1960s, the world witnessed our species traveling through the dark dangers of space, orbit, and eventually land on our rocky bright Moon, then return home safely to Earth. Together, we’ll take a look at the official technology which made this daring fete possible and hear how different people shared this experience to help take us all on a journey from the Earth to the Moon.

August: Wisconsin Wildlife - Did you know Wisconsin is home to over 350 species of native birds? Our Badger State is home to a variety of beautiful wildlife. We’ll take a look at the different habitats and the animals that roam our wilderness.
