The Milwaukee Public Museum strives to provide internship programs that support the mission of the Museum and the goals of our interns through challenging and meaningful opportunities.
Most internship opportunities are geared towards college sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students. High school seniors and college freshmen, in certain instances, may be accepted. Students may also be accepted as interns within one year of graduation from a college or university.
MPM currently offers unpaid internships in a variety of departments. Most internships are available for 8-20 hours per week, depending on the needs of the MPM department and the credit requirements of the university (if applicable). Please click a link below to learn about specific requirements for each opportunity.
You are welcome to apply for internships in departments not listed here. However, please note that if an opportunity is not listed below, it is unlikely that there is a position available.
If the internship is to be taken for credit, the student should contact their faculty advisor or internship office to learn about their school's policies and procedures before applying to MPM.
The deadline for a spring semester (January-May) internship is November 15; for a summer semester internship (June-August), the deadline is April 1; for a fall semester internship (September-December), the deadline is July 15.
