A vivid audio background with the chatter of monkeys, parrots, and other wildlife sets the stage as you gaze at huge transparent cubes filled with scores of colorful butterflies, beetles, toucans, macaws, tree frogs, jaguars, and an incredible variety of tropical plants.

Margaretha Jenssen

Margaretha Karin Jenssen is a nurse for the Milwaukee Health Department’s Child Welfare division. The Fond du Lac native began her nursing career at St. Agnes Hospital, but took private positions to care for sick children from prominent families when she moved to Milwaukee.

The Oneida are unique among Wisconsin Indian tribes in terms of their treaty history, which dates back to the post-Revolutionary period before the establishment of the federal government.

They are also one of the few tribes to have made treaties with an individual state --  in this case, New York.
