The Daniel M. Soref Planetarium & Dome Theater is now open!

One Planetarium program is included with your Museum admission. At this time, programs cannot be reserved in advance and are first-come, first-served. 

Giant-screen films are sold separately from Museum admission and can be reserved online, by phone, or in-person. Members $5, non-members $6. Sustainer+ members can reserve for free, but must call 414-278-2728 or visit MPM.

Wisconsin stargazingWisconsin Stargazing - Planetarium Program

Take a live tour of the current Wisconsin night sky in this 22-minute guided Planetarium program. A lively astronomy educator will show you all of the current sights on a clear dome “sky,” such as planets, constellations, meteors, and other fun celestial phenomena. The program includes a cosmic Q&A session and requests from the audience.

Spooky SpaceThe Solar System Show - Planetarium Program

Looking to explore planets, the blistering sun, mysterious moons, crazy comets, and amazing asteroids? Join our gang of smart, wacky reporters and all their investigations in this Planetarium program! We promise planetary fun for everyone. Audience participation may be required!

That’s short for Space Life Operations Trainer for Humans. Join us for this fun Planetarium program for all ages.





Surviving in SpaceWings Over Water - Giant Film

Embark on a magnificent giant-screen journey to discover the amazing prairie wetlands—a place we need to protect. Take a close look at three amazing bird families: huge sandhill cranes, tiny yellow warblers, and charismatic mallard ducks, who all have unique behaviors and migration routes in this largely unknown area of North America. Narrated by Michael Keaton.

Romancing the StarsRomancing the Stars! Valentine Stargazing

During this special Valentine's Day program at the Daniel M. Soref Planetarium, take a romantic tour of the universe to explore the magic of night and constellations of love. Attendees will receive a red rose and box of chocolates to complete their perfect evening.

Add on a Love & Heartbreak tour to learn the science behind love! The Love & Heartbreak tour is a special 45-minute edition of our MPM Exposed tour. Hear stories of love, heartbreak, and weird mating habits of the animal kingdom. Play matchmaker with our exhibits, be thankful you aren't an angler fish, and get the science behind love. Love & Heartbreak tours must be taken on the same day as as your Romancing the Stars reservation.
